Update on stuff

Well firstly I have added my first tutorial to my Cash Strapped Crafting blog. I have the fabric pocket tutorial and the horse pattern piece...no tutorial. If you want to know any details...just give me a yell.

Secondly....I have been in contact with Candy (simple goods show) and have until the 1st of May to decided if we are doing the show. I have opened a Lemon Poppy Shoppe and a picture trail and not one thing has sold on either. The only things that I have sold are things from my picture trail yardsale. So....I guess I won't be heading over in November. I know the economy is in recession...and it is not going to be fun if I make a heap of things...pay to go to America...pay for car hire, hotels etc....for nothing. I am very disappointed but...hey that is the way things go I guess.

So....I thought I was in the 'big league' of prim crafting....and I was wrong. I know....feeling sorry for myself...but hey....my critics are the ones who buy my craft...and I guess I suck at selling.

Hey Robby, I am saving pennies to travel to that show! It might be a 12-hour drive for me, but I'm going to try.....

Don't be so hard on yourself. This isn't the time to judge your ability to sell. I have decided to NOT do craft fairs in the fall this year. I think folks are hanging on to their money (me included) and things will pick up again. Just keep putting your pics out there, and timing is everything!

You absolutely are in the "big league" of prim crafting my friend! Blessings, ~Sam

Robby, you made me sad talking like that!
Your products are beautiful and I just know if you could make it over here they would do good at the Simple Good Show - but it's the getting here that's the problem...I do think that by the time the show is in Nov. you will see a difference - just wish there was something I could do to help!
Would it be possible to ship your items over here and let someone do the show for you? You just pay the fees???
I'm trying kiddo!!!! If there was a way I could do the show for you I would. But that's my busy time as well (well, I hope so anyway)...
Hey....I didn't see you sign up for my 100th post Give A-way....what's up???

Hi Robby! I've been watching your Cast Strapped site and love it! Thank you again for sharing. I do have a question though....love the latest envelope....dang that is CA-UTE!!! Is there a way to get that in PDF format? I know I'm reaching and asking alot....but it would be easier for me to print a pdf to set near my machine for instruction.

boy you and me both sister..I haven't sold anything since december..and now I am practically giving it away..while others are still selling like crazy..there is one for example that makes one doll a week and averages 5-600 per doll on ebay...so I guess it depends on what you are selling..so I am with you..I keep buying more and nothing is selling..but will keep at it..I got asked to do a show in October..and I love halloween..so I will gear up for that one and the christmas one I do in december...haven't decided whether I will keep in our shoppe or not as it is costing me and nothing is selling..gotta get cracking..I love that little horse and fabric pocket..I would love the tutorials on them...have a wonderful weekend..I hope your easter was wonderful...:)

Never say die. You have really great prims and are so generous in sharing your ideas. Just keep doing what you love. I think all crafters are feeling the pinch. Wallets are zipped tight right now but I have faith that things will turn around. Please keep smiling.
Love, Nan

Robby,
Don't get discouraged! It's a tough market out there now. I've just sold on ebay, but haven't done websites (yet!). Just keep doing the crafts that you love, and it will pick up.

Oh Robby! it certainly is not you! I don't think anyone is selling much right now!
Once the economy gets going again I think you will do fine!

Robby,

I just found your blog through Anne (and your other blog too). I'm a follower now, so I can keep up! :)

Don't get discouraged. I know my husband and I have tried selling some wood pieces and it's just hard to know what sells, plus the fact that people just aren't buying as much now because of the economy! Don't give up though....that's what I'm telling myself anyway! :)

Wow..you live in Scotland! I may be asking you for some Geography facts and general info when our Geography Fair rolls around with our homeschooling group. That would be a great country to do! I bet it's beautiful there!

Have a great rest of the week, Robby! I'd love for you to stop by and visit my blog sometime...although I have a sick one now and not that much going on over there!
