Now....this is what I did today

Pete and I went the different direction today and went to Crathes Castle. We also went to the Milton of Crathes for the best scones ever!!! So I will just list the photos and let you drool. It was colder today though..and I didn't wear warm enough clothes!!! I got Jordan lots of plain fabric today...it is going to be great...I have drawn up a little throw quilt for him to make. So....onto the photos...hope you enjoy.

Not craft....what I did today....

It felt like spring really was here. So...Pete said let's go to Cullen to play some golf. This is him...he is so cute...well I can say that...we have been married for 19 years in 15 days!!!
We drove through Banff and we stopped at Duff House for a picture. Isn't it beautiful!!!
We then drove onto Cullen. There is a patchwork shop there. I bought some fabric for a bag...and some fabric for Jordan. I also got a crochet hook to try making a floor mat. Then on to the curiosity shop and bought a cute little ink container...that will be a great little vase.
This is another view of the village. Notice the big viaduct bridges? I love them too! I love Cullen and the people are so nice there...it still has it's small town charm!!!
See I really do love the bridges!!!
This is looking down onto the harbour. Scotland is full of these little harbours. You should see it on a rough day...today it was perfectly still.
This is looking at the rooftops. I am sorry if I am boring you all...but I thought this would be a great picture.
These are the fishermen's cottages in Cullen.
This house is built into the bridge...there is another one on the other side of the road.
These are the houses in Portknockie near Cullen. The whole village has houses just like these!!! They are beautiful and the village is picture perfect.
This is on the way home near Rosehearty. Imagine living in that house....it is awesome.

Pete and I had the nicest day together. Albeit for the two crazy drivers that nearly got us killed.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my day through my camera.

My film maker nephew

My nephew Philip is a film maker and is making a documentary on the events that my brother David, sister in law, Vicki, nephew, David and his in laws went through on Black Saturday. It is going to be so emotional for them all. Philip has a facebook page and if you see his photo in the article you will be able to see his profile (you can go in). He has made a short film and it is on vimeo...it is unreal!!!! My other nephew, David has written an account of the fire that nearly killed them all. You can get to his profile from Philip's. They are the luckiest family I know!!!

Updated the Lemon Poppy Shoppe

I have updated the Lemon Poppy Shoppe. Have a peek at what I have to offer.

I have been on a mission to find freebie on the web on the Cash Strapped Crafting....so not much sewing has been going on. Need to snap out of it and make something on the blog.

Update on stuff

Well firstly I have added my first tutorial to my Cash Strapped Crafting blog. I have the fabric pocket tutorial and the horse pattern piece...no tutorial. If you want to know any details...just give me a yell.

Secondly....I have been in contact with Candy (simple goods show) and have until the 1st of May to decided if we are doing the show. I have opened a Lemon Poppy Shoppe and a picture trail and not one thing has sold on either. The only things that I have sold are things from my picture trail yardsale. So....I guess I won't be heading over in November. I know the economy is in recession...and it is not going to be fun if I make a heap of things...pay to go to America...pay for car hire, hotels etc....for nothing. I am very disappointed but...hey that is the way things go I guess.

So....I thought I was in the 'big league' of prim crafting....and I was wrong. I know....feeling sorry for myself...but hey....my critics are the ones who buy my craft...and I guess I suck at selling.

Okay...another challenge

I know it hasn't been long enough for people to get the first one done...but for us on speed....(I am not really!!!)...we might be ready to be challenged again. I found a great freebie when I was looking for cross stitch charts. So...this is a real Christmasy one...it would be great to have something new for Christmas. Would be great for the girls who are doing shows and need to get things done in advance.

My gift to Grace

I sent Grace this gift for an early birthday. Anyone who knows me will know that I have a terrible memory with dates. So when it is your birthday you get a present any time. I did like the peacock challenge and made it up with a variety of different pictures. So...Grace has a one of a kind.

My other blog

I have set up a new blog called Cash Strapped Crafting. Go and have a look.
www.cashstrappedcrafting.blogspot.com

If you are a designer and have freebies that you would like to share, please contact me so I can plug your business and direct people to your blog or website.

I hope you enjoy both of my blogs. I am going to use this one for my crafts that aren't necessarily on a budget.

This is for Nan-Threadwork Primitives

Nan your cross stitch deserves a spot on it's own. It is unreal...thanks for showing us all.

www.threadworkprimitives.blogspot.com

Oh and don't forget to check out Nan's work...it is brilliant...and affordable. Your work is beautiful Nan.

Two posts in one

I need to do two posts in one. Nan Lewis has done the most fantastic peacock...you just have to see it. Blast...can't remember her blog name...I will edit this post soon.

My second thing is....LIFE. We are living in Scotland because I felt the Lord telling me to come here. We have had a few times where we have wondered if we have done the right thing. Every time I feel that we are on our own a piece of scripture always pops up. The other day I was feeling really low and I got an email from my friend, Grace. Right at the end of the email it was there....talk about excited!!! So....my project today is a cross stitch that I made for myself. When it was on the graph it looked better!!! Any way the scripture is Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So....we might have a rocky road ahead of us....but we aren't alone.

Awake at 4.27am...

Actually I woke up at 2am...wide awake...everytime Jordan has a sleepover I find it difficult to sleep! That boy could do my head in at times...but I just love him so much....wish he was here in his own bed. I need to ban sleepovers...or let the boys sleep here. Do you realise how noisy birds are even in the middle of the night....they just haven't shut up...crazy.

So....thought I would show you something else that I made a month or so ago. I was so hyped up to make things to sell to fund my trip to the Simple Goods Show...and guess what....nuthin'....Oppps I lie...I sold my doll on ebay for about $10 ish. Angi from Drakestone won it..so it isn't all bad. I have also been selling my yard sale stuff to Italy. I think the folks at the post office must be wondering what I am up to. ...side tracked as usual...so this doll is an Angie Spencer doll. It is her first doll and the doll that I showed with the bird cushion...that is Angie Spencer too...she is giving away that pattern on her blog too. www.simplethymesprimitives.blogspot.com I think...could be www.simplethymes.blogspot.com If you google Angie Spencer you will find it. The horse is one that I drew up. I needed to have it holding something...and waited for y fave designer to make one available.....but she didn't...(I am speaking of Jackie Schmidt) I think she did me a favour...I love my horsey. I also made the penny rug too. It isn't perfect...just the way I like them...I have a square one sitting on an ottoman that needs to be finished...luckily for the rug...we don't have pets.

So...hope I get some sleep today.

And....how about that tragic shooting in Binghamton!!!! The boys were talking about Binghamton the other day...they saw a guy without his top on walking around near the Dunkin' Doughnuts there...and he had moobs...they thought it was hilarious. What is the world coming to? Alot of folks who have come to the US for a better life???? They need to make it alot tougher for immigrants...check their mental health??? I rang and talked to Steve (Sandy's husband) and jokingly said that I hoped that it wasn't our favorite nail guy Donny...and it was a Vietnamese guy!!!! Donny just disappeared...he was good!!!! Those nails had to be forced to come off after about 2 months!!!! Lost none of them.

Now I am dribbling...must be tired by now...it is 4.40am.

the link to the Angie Spencer doll is www.simplethymeprimitives.blogspot.com

More of my craft

Am I boring you all yet...??? Thought I would show you another one of my cross stitch pieces. I love it. The art of cross stitching is so prim!!!! It compliments the dolls doesn't it!!!

My second challenge piece

I have done another piece using the challenge peacock. This time I only used two colours. I also got carried away and have done lots of cross stitch now. The doll is another piece I have made.

Another cross stitch to show you

This was from Ohio Farm Girl....I am sorry I have forgotten your name!!! I am so sorry. Thanks for taking part. It is fun to see all of the different ways to stitch the peacock.

Bond Helicopter Crash

I really wanted to keep this as a 'business' blog...but as I sit here trying to be happy for my baby who just turned 10....I am struggling.

My husband works in the helicopter industry. Aberdeen is an oil city and people fly out to the rigs...well today a Bond helicopter crashed and 10 people are confirmed dead and 6 are still missing. It is so devestating. My husband works for Bristow Helicopters and there are talks of redundancies...we were worried about that...then something like this happens and it makes you put things into perspective. I would hope you all would say a little prayer for the families and for the workers at Bond Helicopters. I feel for them all. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7977095.stm

Lemon Poppy Seed update for the 1st

Just thought I would let you know before I walk down to pick up my big 10 year old....that I have updated the Lemon Poppy Shoppe....I don't know if Robin has yet though. I will check after I get home. The button is on the sidebar to go to it.
